We Have Created a 'Nursery for Greens'
At the beginning of May we are working on a significant investment for the future of our course. In addition to routine maintenance – verticutting, fertilising and re-seeding the greens – we have created a new green. There is no hole in it; it is situated in the 'heart' near hole number 2, but it is all the more important for that.
This 270 m² green will, once it has grown in, be used to provide turf plugs for the regeneration of the standard greens. Since it will be able to grow in a protected environment with constant maintenance, we believe the turf from it will be exactly what we all want on the greens, and we will use it for the regular replacement of damaged sections of the other greens.
The nursery is another key element for us in the long-term improvement of course quality.
